Maria Smolyaninova / artist

Maria was born in Moscow.
In 2006 she graduated with honours from the Moscow Academic Lyceum of Fine Arts at the Russian Academy of Arts. In 2013 she graduated with honours from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov. She is a member of the Moscow Artists’ Society since 2013. In 2014-2017 Maria trained in the graphic arts studio of the Russian Academy of Arts. She was awarded a medal “Excellence in Education” of the Russian Academy of Art and a diploma of the Ministry of Culture. She is a member of the Artists’ Union of Russia and member of International Association of Art since 2017.
Winner of the 2017 IV Kazan International printmaking biennale “Rider” in the nomination “Perspective”. In 2018 Maria was awarded a silver medal of the Russian Academy of Art. Winner of the 2021 III Novosibirsk International Triennial of contemporary graphic art in the nomination “Traditional technologies of printed graphics”. Winner of the 1st degree in the nomination "Professional" of the III International Biennale of Printed Graphics “Kubachinskaya Tower” 2022, Dagestan.
The artist’s works are included in the catalogs of Russian and international art exhibitions. Maria’s works of art are in different museums and private collections in Russia and other countries of the world.
Since 2008 Maria participated in more than 100 russian and foreign exhibitions.
